Secure Messaging is a requirement for Meaningful Use Stage 2 for Eligible Professionals and will be required in Meaningful Use Stage 3 for Eligible Hospitals. It securely transmits information between patients and their providers and is fully integrated with the Iatric Systems PtAccess®   patient portal.

IatriConnect Secure Messaging, version 1.0, has been certified as an EHR Module for Eligible Providers, certification number CC-2014-290560-15. IatriConnect Secure Messaging version 1.0, is compliant with the ONC 2014 Edition criteria on January 22, 2014 by the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), an ONC-ACB, in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. IatriConnect Secure Messaging version 1.0, meets the following certification criteria: 170.314(e)(3) Secure Messaging — Ambulatory Setting Only, 170.314(g)(1) Automated Numerator Recording, 170.314(g)(4) Quality Management System. The additional types of costs that an eligible provider would pay to implement IatriConnect Secure Messaging version 1.0 in order to attempt to meet meaningful use objectives and measures include the following, if required: MS-SQL licensing, data storage, and initial hardware investment.
