Additional Software Required
In implementing and using this product, an Eligible Hospital (EH) and/or Eligible Provider (EP) will not require any additional software to meet Meaningful Use objectives and measures or to achieve any other use within the scope of the product's CEHRT module certification.
Additional Types of Costs
Bar Code Related Costs: This product can be used to implement and support electronic medication administration record (eMAR), which requires that medications and patients have unique bar codes assigned and affixed - either on labels, bags, tubes, forms, etc. Hardware technology, in the form of bar code scanners, must also be available for staff to to scan the medications and patients, in order to administer the medications in this automated fashion. Depending on the bar code scanners chosen to be utilized for this purpose, additional software may need to be installed on servers and/or end user workstations. Please consult with bar code vendors to obtain a detailed listing of all one-time and recurring costs associated with the implementation of medication and patient bar codes.
Limitations - Business Practical and Technical
MEDITECH-Centric Product Limitations: This product is strictly MEDITECH-centric - in other words, it only works in conjunction with a MEDITECH HIS/EMR system. Please consult Iatric Systems for the specific MEDITECH platforms and versions that this product is compatible with.
